Tracking and recovering stolen vehicles as quickly as possible is the goal of our recovery service.
The specially trained Moving Intelligence recovery team is always ready to take action immediately after a theft. When we receive a theft report and see enough opportunities to reunite the car, motorcycle, camper, caravan, or other object with its owner, we do everything possible to make it happen. With our systems, we increase the recovery rate to 94%, and vehicles are returned as quickly as possible through the recovery service. Here are some examples from the first months of 2024.
We trace almost a stolen Toyota every week, with the RAV4 being the most popular model, as national theft statistics show. If not traced in time, these cars often end up in Africa, with Germany serving as an important transit point. Toyotas are sought after in Africa due to a large parts distribution network. The RAV4, in particular, is relatively easy to steal and often ends up in a container on a large cargo ship. It is crucial to act quickly when a theft is reported and intercept the car before it makes the transatlantic journey. Fortunately, we almost always succeed and have recovered many stolen vehicles in time.
Here are some cases from the first months of 2024:
When you or we notice that a vehicle—car, motorcycle, camper, bus, classic car—has been stolen, we immediately take action. For example, you may see that your car is no longer in the driveway, or we detect through Geofencing that a vehicle has crossed a preset boundary. Depending on the system installed in your vehicle, we and you can track the vehicle live or increase the frequency of the signals sent by the tracking system.
Our trained tracking team can locate your vehicle with meter-level accuracy. The team travels to the location or enlists the help of colleagues abroad and works with local authorities. Once found and secured, we ensure that the vehicle (which could also be a boat or work equipment) is returned to you.
Around May 1, a public holiday in much of Europe, a mini excavator was stolen in Enfield, England. The owner reported the theft, and thanks to our tracking system, we located the machine. Within 24 hours, the excavator was returned to the owner, and work resumed.
Our tracking system allowed us to recover a stolen caravan in England within 24 hours. Alongside the police, we tracked the caravan live. One person was arrested, and the caravan was undamaged. Another caravan was stolen without the owner noticing. We were able to quickly inform the owner and police, and the caravan was tracked down. In Leeds, a camper equipped with a Moving Intelligence system was stolen. Within 50 minutes, the camper was located.
