Nearly 200 motorcycles were stolen in the Netherlands in May. This is a record number of thefts per month and a significant increase compared to the same month in previous years.
If this trend continues, 2024 will be the first year where 1,000 motorcycles are stolen within a six-month period. Yamaha is the most desired brand among motorcycle thieves, followed by BMW, Suzuki, Honda, and Kawasaki. This is according to figures from Stichting VbV.
Of the nearly 200 motorcycles, 157 have not been recovered after being stolen. This means high costs for owners and insurers, and a beloved hobby that can be lost. By comparison, 39% of all stolen cars are not recovered.

With a recovery system from Moving Intelligence, we ensure that a motorcycle is recovered after theft. The Peilzender and Retreever are wireless and waterproof systems that are almost undetectable when hidden in the motorcycle. Once a day, the system sends a signal to the online platform. If a motorcycle is stolen, we increase this frequency and can track the motorcycle to within a meter.
